The cell is the unit on which all life on earth is based, from the humblest of bacteria,
made of a single cell, all the way to the most complex organisms, like human beings, which contain more than 60 trillion of them. This small structure measuring 10 to 100 microns (10 to 100 thousandths of a millimeter) is one of nature’s true masterpieces.
It is almost impossible to explain in a simple fashion the incredible complexity of what takes place every millisecond within a cell. When we know that this is also taking place at the same time in 60 trillion others, we can only humbly admire this technological marvel.
