Sit down comfortably, and begin by performing hypoventilation. All you need to do is close your eyes and focus on your breathing for a few seconds, and every exhalation will bring you nearer to feeling calm and relaxed. At first, ten or so breaths are necessary, each one relaxing you more and more. Little by little, you will become able to reach deep relaxation after fewer breaths, until only a single one is necessary. Eventually you will be able to achieve the same results with your eyes open!
